Bret Brothers Mâcon-Cruzille 2016
Region: Burgundy, France
Grape Variety: Chardonnay
Bret Brothers was established by brothers, Jean-Guillaume and Jean-Philippe in 2001 with the aim of producing very fine wines with a focus on terroir. Their fruit mainly sourced from the Mâcon wine-producing region in Southern Burgundy. The source for this wine comes from Mâcon-Cruzille, a short drive north from Vire-Clesse. The vineyard is managed with extreme care using techniques such as horse drawn ploughing and biodynamic agriculture – It is one of the oldest organic vineyards in Burgundy! Expect aromas of quince and ripe apple with a palate that is textural, with a stony and cool acidity that balances the savoury intensity of this wonderful Chardonnay. Drink now or cellar for years to come.
They say that a classic pairing is often products of similar origin – Try this with one of the legendary cheeses of France Delice de Bourgogne.
